The Puppet Master (by Jen Duffy Ruzicka)

According to the encyclopedia, the definition of a puppeteer is: a person who manipulates an inanimate object—a puppet—in real time to create the illusion of life.

Everday, every action, reaction, spoken word, and even thought requires such a huge amount of conscious effort. The choices that I make effect my life, yet there are times when I feel as though I am just a pawn in a larger game.

So today I wonder who I allow to control me. What strings do I have that I allow others to control, manipulate, and distort my life. Maybe its not people rather things: money, status, material things that control me. Every action, reaction, thought, spoken word…Are they mine or someone elses? Are they of good or evil? Who’s my Puppet Master?

Have you ever just sat back and thought about what controls your everyday actions? What controls your tongue? When you get up in the morning – who are you living for?

Who or what controls your tongue? Do you watch your words or do you throw up all over people? Proverbs 13:3 says, ” He who guard his lips guards his life”.Do the words we speak come from that of compassion and love or are they merely just words?

Who controls your actions? Do you fly off the handle before thinking or are you cautious to allow emotions to overrun you? Are we living a life with Christ at the helm or do we allow money, status, and “pretty” things to control our strings.

At the end of the day- I’m ok being a puppet in Gods master plan! I pray he grabs ahold of my strings and he moves me, uses me, and molds me to be a leading character in His stage production of a Christian life!

2 Timothy 1:7 “God did not give us a spirit that makes us afraid but a spirit of power and love and self control” Love to all- Jen
