He places people and events before me to remind this devotional writer of His all inclusive love and unending compassion.
Yesterday was a good example. I have become friends with a young woman who works at the local grocery. Her name is April and she is absolutely lovely. She has a beautiful smile and the personality to match. Whenever I give her a complement, which is most of the time, she often says, “You’re so sweet.” And whenever she does, I melt on the spot.
While checking out I heard her telling a co-worker of my writing, having a book published and another to be on the shelves shortly. I must admit I have a soft pocket in my heart for her so I asked if I had ever given her a copy of Volume 1. They say at my age recall is the last thing to go. Anyway she said no. So I went to my car to get a copy and when I returned she was in tears. She had just learned her favorite aunt had died. She held me as she sobbed and I said a silent prayer for her and the family.
Here we have a grieving niece about to receive a book about God’s presence being everywhere. Another God moment orchestrated by the Father!
Listen as John writes these words of encouragement spoken by Jesus,
“So with you: Now is you time of grief, but I will see you again and you will rejoice, and no one will take away your joy.” John 16:22
That folk’s, is the definition of spiritual light at the end of the tunnel. No matter how dark your clouds become or how defeated you feel in life’s drama, be assured of the Father’s never ending mercy and endless protection. Again, climb upon the lap of Jesus and feel Him holding you tightly in His arms of love, safety and shelter. Tell Him of your fears and concerns then listen quietly for His response. It will come, I promise.
Remember these words spoken by our Risen Lord,
“For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.” Matthew 15:20
And to think, even in the middle of a grocery store, He is there to listen and to comfort.
Yes, God is indeed awesome!
