Clutter- we all have it! Usually when we talk about clutter we think of our homes, cars, that one drawer in the kitchen that’s the catch all! We all have one Unless you are just completely OCD but then you really do have problems!
Last night our womens study realized that, many times, the findings of our home are a pretty good indication of how our lives are.
Some of us are hoarders or a prettier name is “collectors”. Some of us live in complete chaos while people like me have a nice clean home when people come over and only a rare few get to see the room where I throw everything!
None of us are perfect and our homes are outing us every time. I’m guilty of it! A dear friend of mine has said a number of times that I always look well put together- seriously, how could Jen have a pit, be a slave to anything?
Well folks, I’m here to tell you- I have that room! From the outside, my life might look nice, warm, friendly, and even inviting but I, too, have that room that I push everything into. Its cluttered, unorganized, and overwhelming- much like my life I guess.
So take a look around- are you living in chaos? Do you have a hard time finding anything? Are you a “collector” of junk? Or maybe you live in a perfectly clean and orderly home- scared to death that someone might actually see your insecurities and weaknesses!
God is crying out to us to let go of all of this. We can only be rescued once we allow ourselves to be released from that bondage. Just like a beautiful pearl- we must first be released and washed clean.
So what does your house look like? Psalm 40:1-3 says “I waited patiently for the Lord; he turned to me and heard my cry. He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; he set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand. He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see and fear and put their trust in the Lord”. Love to all- Jen
