True Purpose (by Len Winneroski)

UnknownAre you looking for purpose in this broken world? Are you ready to trade your purposeless life for the fulfilling life that God had in mind for you before time began? Do you believe that God loves you unconditionally and intimately in a way that nobody else ever could?

Bill Bright, founder of Campus Crusade for Christ, has published a simple little booklet entitled, “Have you Heard of the Four Spiritual Laws?”  God has used the Biblical truth in this booklet to help many, many people find their way home back to God.  I am one of them.

If you have never read this booklet or would like to share the Good News of the Gospel with a friend in a simple non-threatening way I would encourage you to check out this site:

Bill has suggested that there are four spiritual laws that govern our relationship with God.  I would like to paraphrase them for you today.

Law 1 – God loves you and cares about you deeply. He has an awesome plan for your life.

God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that who ever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. – John 3:16

[Christ speaking] I came that they might have life, and might have it to the full. – John 10:10

Law 2 – Sin has separated us from God and the plan that He has for our lives.

All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. – Romans 3:23

The wages of sin is death [eternal separation from God]. – Romans 6:23

Law 3 – Jesus Christ died to free us from an eternal separation from God by taking the punishment that man deserves upon Himself.  Jesus Christ is the only path that leads us back to God.

God demonstrates His own love for us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. – Romans 5:8

Christ died for our sins… He was buried…He was raised on the third day, according to the Scriptures…He appeared to Peter, then to the twelve. After that He appeared to more than five hundred…” – 1 Corinthians 15:3-6

Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through me. John 14:6

Law 4 – Head knowledge of Jesus will not save us. We must admit our sin before God and receive Jesus Christ as our Savior.

As many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name. – John 1:12

By grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works that no one can boast. – Ephesians 2:8, 9

[Christ speaking] Behold, I sand at the door and knock; if any one hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him. – Revelations 3:20.

Now there was a Pharisee named Nicodemus, a leader of the Jews. He came to Jesus by night and said to him, “Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher who has come from God; for no one can do these signs that you do apart from the presence of God.” Jesus answered him, “Very truly, I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God without being born from above.” Nicodemus said to him, “How can anyone be born after having grown old? Can one enter a second time into the mother’s womb and be born?” Jesus answered, “Very truly, I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God without being born of water and Spirit. What is born of the flesh is flesh, and what is born of the Spirit is spirit. Do not be astonished that I said to you, ‘You must be born from above. The wind blows where it chooses, and you hear the sound of it, but you do not know where it comes from or where it goes. So it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit. – John 3:1-8

If you are sick and tired of being sick and tired and are at the end of yourself maybe it is time to try things God’s way. I made this decision 23 years ago and have never been disappointed. If you are ready to accept God’s love for you and return back to Him through His Son, all you have to do is ask.

Dear Jesus, I need you in my life. Thank you for taking the punishment that I deserve when you died on the cross. I receive you into my life today and I am ready to trust you instead of myself. Help me to love like you love. Help me to change and become the person that you want me to be.  Thank you for forgiving me for my sins and for leading me back to the Father. I want you to be the Lord of my life.

If you have made a decision to follow Christ please let us know. We will help you seek out a group of believers to do life with. They will be blessed to hear about your decision and will be eager to help you along on your new journey into God’s plan for your life.
