A few days ago I was craving the taste of a local restaurants delicious chili. I decided to take some home and found myself ordering my favorite style at their drive thru window. When the young man handed me my order he said with a slight chuckle, “Thanks for spending the past 56 seconds with us.”
Can you imagine standing in the line of eternal judgment and Jesus saying, “Thanks for spending the past 56 seconds with us” and then sending you in the direction of the fiery crater of everlasting suffering and corruption?
Talk about incentives.
We will all encounter the moment of His final ruling but by then it will be too late. What we do with our lives during this brief worldly visit will determine His just and fair verdict. There will be no time for excuses or apologizes, no time for remorse or the asking of forgiveness and certainly no time for that last minute plea for salvation. It will be done, over and complete in the blink of an eye.
Only Christ has the authority to spare you from the Evil Separator and the power to grant a forever filled with splendor and love. Listen to the words of Jesus,
“Moreover, the Father judges no one,
but has entrusted all judgment to the Son,
that all may honor the Son just as they honor the Father.
Whoever does not honor the Son does not honor the Father, who sent him.”
John 5: 22-23
Turn to Him and He will never turn from you.
