One day while browsing the aisles of a local Christian bookshop I came upon a life size poster of Jesus. He had the face we all recognize, beard, gentle compassionate eyes with dark handsome features. Before I realized it I was saying, “Hello, Jesus.”
At that moment I turned and saw a young woman shopper looking at me with a soft smile and nodding as if to say, “That’s alright, I said hello to Him also.” We spoke for a few minutes and I left knowing we had each found another partner in Christ.
What would you say if you ran into Jesus one day, unexpectedly and without warning? I doubt I’d bring up the weather, politics or sports. Before I uttered a single word I would kneel at His feet and worship the Prince of Peace. I would praise Him for this sinners reprieve from the constant fire of earthly despair and for His healing mercy. At the same time I would give thanks for providing me His gift for interpreting the situations in life and seeing His presence.
Here’s a promise. Someday you will meet Jesus for real. If you are found to be right with God, your eternities will be spent in a special place. A place reserved for you and designed for His children to experience the warmth of everlasting love and affection.
Read and remember the reassuring words of Jude, the brother of Jesus,
“Keep yourself in God’s love as you wait for the mercy
of our Lord Jesus Christ to bring you to eternal life.”
